In recent years, where the world and technology are constantly changing, maritime and maritime transport have begun to change and adapt to the era at the same speed. Pollution has been minimized and the concept of green transportation has come to the fore. With the change in the maritime sector, different ships started to be used. In recent years, large-scale maritime companies have been producing “Bigger Ships”, which we can call “gigantic”. The high capacity of these ships and the fast loading and unloading systems with improved automation make these ships even more attractive for companies to choose. With the concept of “Green Maritime”, as the size and volume of the ships grow, the technology used to minimize the impact of propellers, engines and fuels on the environment, and therefore more environmentally friendly ships are tried to be produced and designed. “Data Analysis and Ship Tracking Applications” has enabled companies to make more accurate decisions with this information and to monitor the operation processes of cargoes and ships and cargoes in maritime transport with the advancing technology, and to reach up-to-date information about these processes. At the same time, the extra costs that may arise were started to be prevented with this analysis and applications.  With 5G and Wi-Fi technology, instant, high-quality communication with ship management and ship crews began to be provided. With this technology, shipowners started to make more accurate and decision-making stages in information and decision-making stages. With these concepts, the maritime industry continues to change and develop day by day.

Semra Taş / Samsun University-Maritime Business Management 1st Class

The maritime sector, which is customary as a male dominated profession; It refutes and continues to refute this judgment, which is accepted by the society thanks to our determined and successful women.  As we are more advanced the age of technology and communication, as in the past. It has ceased to be a power-driven profession. More level of development, networking skills, capability and access have gained importance. Hence the woman cannot, maritime is a male profession  this judgment is not correct. Difficulties experienced by seafarer women when applying for internships and jobs foundations, associations, communities etc. that support us has become an easier situation with. Especially, WISTA, which was established in the UK in 1974 with the solidarity of women in the sector, supports our women in many issues. The association, which started with a handful of women in the early days, is now in 45 countries it reached more than 3 thousand members, both men and women. In our country  It has been working as WISTA TURKEY since 8 March 2009. WISTA supports thousands of women seafarers, both in terms of internships and references and scholarships. In short, women who were on the ship with their husbands for the first time have achieved many successes today. For example, last year in Norway in the maritime sector 2 Turkish women were included in the “10 Successful Women to Watch” list. The success of our women at sea increases day by day with the support of society and makes us proud on behalf of our country. As women we can be both a good mother, a good wife and We have the determination to work in all difficulties, regardless of the sector, as long as no obstacles are placed in front of us. Maritime is an industry with lots of patience and longing, with difficult turns for all men and women. Together, we must move forward in this sector, regardless of gender, and achieved many successes on behalf of our country. We can achieve this hand in hand. As Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said “A society, a nation It consists of two kinds of people called male and female. Is it possible that a society As half of them are bound to the land in chains, may the other part rise to the skies “
