In our country, which has the luckiest marine geography of the European continent with 8 thousand 337 km of coastline, the ‘International Boat Show Tuzla Sea Fair’, which the boat and yacht industry awaits, will open its doors by taking coronavirus measures. The world’s most famous boat and yacht brands will perform at the fair, which will start at sea on the same dates as the ‘Formula 1 Race’ which will organise again, after 9 years, in Turkey also. The cancellation of two very important fairs such as Monaco and Cannes, puts the fair in Viaport Marina to the fore.
The changing tourism habits, due to the coronavirus affecting the world, made the exploration of the blues by boat and yacht popular. With domestic boat production increasing by more than 12 percent in the 8-month period, the sector became one of the rare sectors that showed an increase despite the global pandemic. Turkey’s largest boat show in the open air and the sea organized ‘International Boat Show in Tuzla Naval Exhibition’ will be held between 7-15 November 2020 dates. The most special boat designs of 2021, the latest advantages of 2020, award-winning designs and prominent models of world brands will be exhibited at the fair, which will take place under the supervision of international health organizations due to the global pandemic, by taking high-level health security measures at ‘Viaport Marina’. It was learned that this year’s fair attracted great interest from nearby geographies such as the Middle East, Turkic Republics, Ukraine and Russia, as well as from Europe, where sea tourism is developed. International Boat Show in Tuzla Trade Manager Emel Yilmaz said: ‘Boat manufacturers, expect that, until the releasing dates of the Fair, in November, Turkey-Russia flights will be open; and Europe will remove Turkey from the risky countries list, for travelers. The Fair, play an important role for the promotion of Turkish Maritime Sector. The pandemic has made great changes in social lives. Isolated lifestyle will be a part of our lives for a long time. This process has positively efected the boat industry. There is an increasing very rapidly in the order negotiations of 12-25 meter boats, which we call family type in yacht orders. The companies participating in our fair also expect a 25 percent increase in sales. The fair area, where more than 200 domestic and foreign boats will be exhibited between 07-15 November, will offer diversity with entertainment centers such as the shopping center in the Marina, ‘Theme Park’ and ‘Aslan Park’ .”.
‘Monaco’ and ‘Cannes’ Fairs are Canceled
Emel Yılmaz said “Cannes and Monaco fairs, one of the most important boat fairs in the world, were canceled because the epidemic, progressed much faster in Europe and could not be kept under control. ‘Boat Show Tuzla’, which became more important with the cancellation of these fairs, stands out as the most important meeting of the yachting industry.” In addition, It was learned that, in the Fair catamarans be among the first choices, with Its large living spaces as floating homes. And It is either remarkable that, the Fair will be organised during the same days with ‘Formula 1 Racing’ that would realise in Turkey again, after 9 years.
